Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains when and how you can get a refund for payments made to Blue Electric Hand Corporation ("Cosmic You," "we," "us") for subscriptions and one-time purchases on cosmicyou.me. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

The summary: we want you to be happy with the Service. If the Service isn't working for you, contact us at support@cosmicyou.me and we'll find a fair resolution.

1. Subscription refund windows

Monthly subscriptions (Align, Illuminate, Oracle)

  • First billing period: full refund available within 7 days of your first charge, no questions asked, provided you haven't generated an in-app report using paid-tier features during that period.
  • Subsequent billing periods: refunds are not automatic after the 7-day window, but we may grant a prorated refund on a case-by-case basis if you contact us within 14 days of a renewal charge. Once the billing period is mostly consumed, we typically issue credit rather than a refund.
  • Cancellation without refund: you can cancel at any time from your account settings. Your subscription continues until the end of the current billing period; you are not charged again.

Annual subscriptions (Align, Illuminate, Oracle)

  • Full refund available within 14 days of the charge, provided you haven't generated more than your first report using paid-tier features.
  • After 14 days: we issue prorated refunds on request, calculated as (unused days ÷ 365) × amount paid, minus a small processing fee covered by Stripe's non-refundable transaction fee.
  • Annual renewals: we'll send you a reminder email at least 7 days before a renewal charge. If you see the reminder and want to cancel, do so before the charge. If a renewal charge goes through and you contact us within 14 days, we'll refund it in full (you can keep using the Service through the remainder of the last paid period).

Lifetime plan ($444 one-time)

  • Full refund available within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked.
  • After 30 days: not refundable except under the specific conditions in Section 4 below (service discontinuation, material feature reduction, or legal requirement).
  • We chose a long 30-day window on Lifetime deliberately - it's a significant purchase and we want you to have time to decide.

2. One-time purchases (PDF-Extra Reports)

PDF-extra reports are generated and billed individually against your tier's monthly allowance (Illuminate: 1/month, Oracle: 3/month, Lifetime: unlimited). They are not refundable once generation has started, because the generation process consumes AI compute that we pay for upfront.

Exceptions:

  • If the PDF fails to generate due to a technical error on our side, we will refund the generation against your monthly counter (you can retry without it counting).
  • If a PDF-extra is generated but the download link never becomes available within 24 hours, contact us and we will refund the generation count plus attempt a manual regeneration.

Castalia Eyes (𓂀)

Castalia Eyes are a prepaid in-app currency used for optional features. They do not expire. Because they are a digital consumable that unlocks AI-generated content on demand, purchased Castalia Eyes are non-refundable, including any unused balance, except where a refund is required by applicable consumer-protection law. If a purchase of Eyes fails to credit to your balance due to a technical error on our side, contact us and we will credit the Eyes you paid for or refund that purchase.

3. How to request a refund

Email support@cosmicyou.me with the following:

  • The email address on your Cosmic You account
  • The approximate date of the charge
  • The amount
  • A brief reason (optional but helps us improve)

We aim to respond within 2 business days and process approved refunds within 5–10 business days. Refunds are returned to your original payment method via Stripe.

4. Refunds we will proactively offer

We will issue refunds without being asked in these cases:

  • Duplicate charge: if we accidentally charge you twice for the same billing period, we refund the duplicate within 48 hours of detection.
  • Service discontinuation: if we shut down the Service, we will refund unused prepaid time on annual subscriptions on a prorated basis, and Lifetime purchases made within the preceding 12 months will be fully refunded.
  • Material feature removal: if we remove a major feature that was a primary reason you subscribed to a specific tier, we will give you the option of a prorated refund or a credit toward another tier.
  • Fraud or compromised account: if your account was used without your authorization and you notify us promptly, we will refund unauthorized charges and work with Stripe to prevent further charges.

5. Refunds we generally will not issue

  • Refund requests made after the applicable refund window has closed, except where required by law
  • Requests based on not using the Service during a paid period (you bought access; whether you used it is up to you)
  • Requests based on a change in your personal circumstances (we understand and sympathize, but the pricing is what it is)
  • Requests for third-party features that depend on external providers (for example, translation quality issues attributable to upstream AI model behavior)

6. Chargebacks

If you file a chargeback with your card issuer before contacting us, we will dispute it. Please contact support@cosmicyou.me first - we resolve the overwhelming majority of issues informally, and a chargeback costs both of us time and money. Accounts that file chargebacks without attempting to resolve the issue with us may be closed, and we may refuse future subscriptions.

7. Consumer protection rights

Nothing in this Refund Policy limits your statutory rights under applicable consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction, including:

  • In the EU and UK: the 14-day "right of withdrawal" for distance contracts (your annual window matches this; your monthly window is shorter because each month is a separate contract period under EU practice, and you have 7 days on the first one).
  • In Quebec: the protections under the Consumer Protection Act (Loi sur la protection du consommateur).
  • In California: the right to cancel subscription contracts as required by the California Automatic Renewal Law (ARL).

Where our policy is less favorable than applicable statutory law, statutory law applies.

8. Taxes

Refund amounts are calculated including any sales tax, VAT, or GST/HST that was originally charged. If you paid tax, the refund returns the tax too.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes that reduce refund rights take effect only for purchases made after the change's effective date, which we will post at the top of this policy.
